    JM Marlin 1895ss 45-70 1997 FS

    Good shape but a few marks.never shot it after I bought it.It's a microgroove gun with safety.

    Danged. I bought an 1895 Marlin Cowboy .45-70 close to a decade ago for $1K. Yeah, the guy needed money and I had it. We both went away happy. Mine does have the Ballard rifling. Sure does kick. Light weight does extract it's price. The rifle the OP is selling would be a great deer rifle if you can keep your shots within 150 yards. Having killed deer with the .45-70, it does so admirably. They drop fast, and you can eat right up to the hole.
