    Johnson Floor wax for BLL?

    Hey guys,

Doing some clean up and happened across an old 55 gallon drum of Johnson Floor wax. Its 1/3-1/2 full. I have no idea if this is the one used for BLL or not, what do you think? Dont let the drum condition fool ya, the inside and contents looks great. Heres a picture. I suppose I could always use it for floor wax too if all else fails.

The drum may say Johnson wax but the contents are actually floor finish. Totally different stuff.
Take a small amount and paint some cardboard with it. It will be hard and glossy, it is a acrylic floor finish.

    Not wax

I sloshed some out and painted a piece of cardboard. It for sure hasn't dried hard and glossy. It's very light in viscosity and an off white kinda color. Give me a few and I'll post pictures.

Maybe put some on some glass and scrape it off after it dries.

Wouldn't wax, even carnuba, ball up if played in your ~100 degree fingers? Plastic probably not...

I resent it when other people try to inflict their ideas of betterness on me. I don’t think they know. And I can’t see any authority on the horizon that’s got any answers that seem worthwhile. FZ

May be wax but I doubt it's the no buff version used in BLL. That stuff will dry into a haze and require buffing.

It may be gym seal. Either way mix a small batch and see what happens...

I dont have any Alox otherwise I would. Anyone want some to try? Make some and see if there's any discernible difference between the regular recipe and the mystery Johnson wax?

I could send a soda bottle of it UPS to someone.

I was a sales rep. For S.C.Johnson for a number of years in the Industrial Division. That is polymer floor finish-- not carnauba paste wax. That was meant for vinyl and tile type floors. Paste wax was never sold in drums. It is always a yellow solvent smelling product.

Blue2, I second Oklahoma red. What do you think. Any potential for a bullet lube ingredient?

And my offer stands if anyone wants to give it a go!
