Looking good, you'll have to show us what they look like coated and how they shoot in your gun.
That's and interesting looking boolit...
Is it specific for powder(?)coating as I don't see any lube grooves. Only the slight groove that appears to be a a crimping groove?...
What are you planning on shooting that in?...
Always curious about such things...
Good-luck...BCB
Also curious to see what you're shooting these from.
I have the 174 grain version and have been contemplating this mold, tuned in for results.
These HTC molds wreak havoc on your wallet. Since I bought my first I have been replacing all of my traditional style molds one at a time.
Yes I’m hooked on the hitek coating. Some folks say it’s best to have a traditional mold anyway rather than a dedicated coatings bullet but these grooveless jobs do have some advantages like longer bore bearing surface and a slightly rear heavy weight shift. Plus they cast and coat so well.
The advantages are many on the coating as well, but one of the big ones for me is that it seals in the lead which equates to less exposure for the operator when I’m out shooting and loading. Which I like.
Yessir, it was originally designed as a boat tail but due to demand in 300 blackout Al agreed to offer a plain base version as well.
