New slug wad came in today

I have a Facebook page dedicated to buck and Slug reloading. I've been trying to find a source for this mold with these wads. One of my members from Russia sent me the first of 3,000 of these wads along with this mold. The mold is the same slugs BPI sells minus the spirals. Me and Uncle D got big plans for these.

What's the OD of the slug? Those should shoot out of a 835 overbore. Or, at least they shouldn't tip sideways. What's the going price?
May you hands be warmed on a frosty day.

Lol! I just wish that there was more interest in slugging here in America. That's why I started my Facebook page. Maybe I can help start a revival? It's less than a year old and I already have around 1,300 members.

Based on my own experience with ribs on the slug nose, you'll have better results with your plain-nose slug. The combined slug/compression-wad and seal concept is interesting, but I'm worried if it will hold up under pressure without any permanent deformation. Looking forward to see some testing.

Slugs are really so much fun! I'm having a blast showin' off in front of my shooting buddies; first pointing out a piece of clay target on the (fifty yard distant) berm and then, spectacularly, obliterating it off hand with a home made slug from my skeet gun - of course, even a near miss will also do the trick, but don't tell anyone.

The only problem I found with Gualandi slug wads is that when loaded at maximum velocities (about 2000f/s) the wad's base turns inside out, due to muzzle blast I suppose.
Solved the broblem cutting part of the base so that dome height is significant reduced.

    Dang, I don't plan of pushing a 1.5 oz slug 2000 fps!

It'll be interesting to see your results. I tested some Gualandi slugs that looked identical to those a few years ago in my smoothbore. Accuracy was pretty good but several went through targets tipped some (oval holes) at 50 yards and some recovered slugs showed unevenly expanded bases on the slug. I was surprised that the skirt was thin enough to distort with such a long attached wad slug but so they did. A thicker skirt would solve it.

Not a big test though as I didn't have a lot of slugs so no playing with powder charges and different powders. Gualandi's have been around a long time and it is a nice design so should work well with the right load.
