Best of health, and quick healing.
Healing as I type this. Sorry I had to miss out on this buy. If any of you geentlemen would like to cast me a few boolits to try out later, I would gladly pay the shipping and send you an equal or greater amount of lead in return. I have plenty of WW and pure lead ingots.
    PM me if interested...

Don't forget, Miha is LIKELY to have a couple extras of this mold. If you can find the $$$ to get one directly from him SOON, you might be in luck. That would always be better than asking for samples. I'm worried that the samples would only make you even sadder that you missed out. Whewn everyone gets their molds, Miha will usually pop in and tell us how many extras he made. So, good luck.

Which is an extra bonus that you get with the MP-Molds orders. No need to spend extra $$$ buying a top punch. Thanks, Miha, for including the top punches.

Would it be weird if I sat at the end of the driveway in a lawn chair just waiting?

I want to give this mold a try today. Is there any needed prep for this mold before using for the first time? I've only used aluminum molds so far.

Now aren't you all glad I made everyone wait a little bit longer so you could have these extra pins...?

Ugh, wife was home but usps decided no one was available to sign for the package so left a note. Might have had something to do with 3 giant breed dogs raising all manor of noise at someone being here and the wife busy working. Oh well, I'll end up with it if I have to pick it up at the post office friday night or saturday.

My mailman is a gun guy, and I take him shooting as often as I can. Today, while I was wayyyyyy out of town, he called me on the cell phone, and said, "I have a package from Europe that needs a signature. Do you want me to sign for it?"

YUP! I got my mold today also!!

Mihec, I have probably sent you 12 messages on every media that I could find your info on. Do you have any more of these left to order?
    Thank you

My preliminary casting results, for your perusal; I will copy paste this into a results thread.

I started casting with the superhuge John Ross pins, because of course I did. The first few casts were frustrating; the pins did not want to drop the boolits and they obstinately and stubbornly held on. I gave it a significant amount of time on the hotplate and rubbed the pins down with a graphite pencil. This made a substantial difference in the drops and my difficulties quickly disappeared.

(I will add I have resisted using a hotplate to preheat for years and I just started doing so a few months ago... You will find no better investment for $12. Getting good casts from a familiar mold right out the gate and minimizing wrinkles from cold blocks is worth it)

Drops measured 0.502 on all bands, which conveniently is what I sized to. I handlubed these and gas checked them, and my sizer just barely kissed them.

I cast 30 "keepers", and of those the max weight was 547 and minimum was 540 grains. The 540 was an outlier and the next lowest was 543.8 gr. Mean was around 545 grains. After dressing them up with White Label's carnauba red and a gas check they came to 562 grains or thereabouts. Mix was wheelweights and reclaim lead.

I will note I had rather extreme issues with the sprue plate loosening, and the set screw backing out as well. I am not sure why, exactly. After the mold got up to temp I was breaking the sprue by hand and only gently tapping the mold handles to drop the boolits.

While I was warming up the lead pot I went to replace the sight blade on my 8 3/8" 500, and found that S&W didn't see fit to include a new windage nut in their sight blade kit, so it will be at least next weekend until I get to shoot them, as I didn't look before I leaped and now I have no rear sight. Hopefully I can find one in stock, and a new spanner bit...
