    Plugged my Lee 4-20

My wife bought a ProMelt for me last December so didn't really need a second bottom pour pot and because I mostly ladle cast now days anyway, I figured I'd Plug my Lee 4-20. It never did drip too bad but I just didn't want the extra hardware in the way so after draining I pulled the pot, removed the spout, and plugged her up. Very simple task. Let the bullet pouring begin.

Did the same thing twice and it still leaked. Only small leak that made it out of the bottom hole, but, much larger glob under the pot inside the enclosure. Tweaked the two panels getting the steel liner out. Needed to melt the lead with a torch to get the pot out.

Finally noticed the Magnum Melter uses the same pot but with no hole to leak! Ordered the steel pot, two front panels and some spare screws for $8.82 to my door in CA! Pot # is EL3021 if you are interested when yours starts to leak. Was only a dollar more with the panels so I just replaced them. No leaks now while I wait for the new RCBS to be released around Thanksgiving according to RCBS last week.

Mine plugged itself up years ago and I simply left it. I prefer ladle pouring anyhow, so for once, Lee's drip-o-matic malfunction was an absolute win for me. Have never looked back.
