Old School Specialty Pistol...You can do WHAT with a 1911 frame?

Finally being able to get a Pachmyer Dominator, has been a handgun that I have wanted since they first came out.
This one started out life is a 308 Winchester. Factory barrel shot very good.
    I had it re-barreled to 6.5 Creedmoor.
Chris Rhodes/Bayside Custom Gunworks did all the custom work on this, and the trigger pull is fantastic for a 1911. Scope is a long eye relief Leupold.
I chronographed it with the 140 grain A-Max/H-4350/Fed primers/Hornady brass, and then proceeded to verify my drops out to 500 yards.
At 100 yards I used my MINI rest with the small field bag.
Zeroed my turrets, and then shot from the standing position using Bog Gear and I shot at 200 yards, 250 yards, 300 yards, 350 yards, 400 yards, and 500 yards.
Video of shooting at 500 yards is the link below

I had a lot of fun shooting this handgun.

That's cool...never saw one. Wish that video was longer so I could see how you load it.

OS OK, it has a small lever for a bolt handle. The bolt head slides back& forth on rails and resembles a shell holder. No ejection- you slide the shell in &out. My friend used his exclusivley for everything from squirrels to deer for years. His was mounted on a 1911 frame with the wide hammer and long trigger. It was/is a shooter.

VERY cool. I gave up on owning one of those years ago. Maybe I'll start looking again...

Springfield Armory also made one but it was a break open with the barrel latch extending down through the mag well. It was called the SASS(Springfield Armory Single Shot).

I want a unit similar to the Dominator for an AR15 lower to convert it to a single shot 7mm or .300 magnum - along the lines of the SHTF .50 BMG unit.

Got a 44 Mag barrel for the 45 auto in a trade for other stuff. Shot it one time, way to much recoil for me. Still have it somewhere. One shot at a time with the barrel on the 1911 frame.

1911 frame is not too kind, when you begin pushing that bullet weight and velocity

    bstone5,
Do you still have that Pachmyer Dominator in 44 Magnum?
