Your thoughts on my cast boolit load for deer this year in the bottom--

lee .358 cal 206 grains over 39 grains of H322
the melt is my range lead and ww ac'd
you can dig in them with a fingernail
my .358 has a worn out barrel -- I go it in 1977-- now the throat is loooong
the rifle is a Weatherbye vanguard. The only thing i do not like about is they used the 30.06 length bolt for this short .308 class round.
I will be using it only the bottom/ swamp, so minute of whitetail is all that is needed
this same load over 38 gr of H322 was 2140fps with a Seaco 245 .358 cast boolits
i will get around to clocking the 200 gr load in the morning

Should do well. I have not recovered a bullet yet on a whitetail, from my .358 win.
RCBS 35-200 or Lee copy. WW at 2,050fps and IMR3031.

Make sure your knives sharp! Should make meat whenever pointed well.

If you put the bullet bin the boiler room of the deer you should have meat for the freezer

I would say double check your accuracy when you chrono. Aside from that be ready to drag and cut. Best of luck.

    FWIW,
I , too shoot deer with my 358 Win on Savage 110CL, douglas 14 twist, 24"
Load is WW cases(308 necked up), WLRprimers, 43 gr 3031, Lyman 358318 , 250 gr cast
of 9+1 WW/Lino, and Paper Patched with 20# 100% rag bond paper. Oehler chrono
    says it clocks 2340 fps.
Works well on up to 200# field dressed deer I have shot. Great for "thru the shoulders"-
Deer Crumple up on the spot, and I "can eat up to 3" of bullet hole"- minimal meat damage
    compared to typical 30-06/180gr
