I recently purchased a rcbs 250gr keith 44 mold. Data is hard to come by apparently. The lyman version 245gr keith has a range of 24 to 25 gr of h110. This seems high to me. Anyone have experience with this boolit powder combo?

The Hodgdon reloading site shows a max of 24 gr. H110 or 296 for a 240 gr. Nosler jacketed hollow point.

No experience with H110/W296 in .44 Magnum. Do you have access to ANY other powder of that approximate burning rate? If the max for that projectil3 is 25.0/H110/250gr. Keith, you might try making 6 rounds of 24.3/H110/250gr. Keith, shoot them & check for pressure signs. I no pressure signs are evident, work upward in 0.1 gr. until you encounter best performance or pressure signs. If you DO encounter pressure signs at 24.3/H110/250gr. Keith, try dropping the charge weight by another 3% and see where you are.

Drop back 1 grain if you are concerned. The Lyman data should be fine though. I have been using 19.5 gr of 2400 for years (decades) with that boolit for hunting, I got better accuracy with 2400 than any of the H110 loads I tried. 18.5 gives even better accuracy but is obviously a tad slower. I can guarantee that no game animal would ever know the difference.
As soon as i find the best load for this projectile and h110 ill move on to the bottle of 2400 i have unopened on the shelf. That was kinda my point, i wanted to test the 2400 h110 camps and find out which one worked better for me.

What weight bullet does your RCBS mould cast with your alloy? I've used H110 under cast 240 - 255 gr Keith type SWCs and the max load producing SAAMI MAPs is 23 - 25 gr.
That's based on my own pressure testing with an Oehler M43 in a Contender test barrel.
I suggest a WLP or CCI 350 magnum primer.

Shot many over 22.0 of H110. Standard primers.
Paper targets aren't your friends. They won't lie for you and they don't care if your feelings get hurt.
I have seen some go as low as 21grs.
how H-110 works is you need a case full, as in, it goes up to the base of the bullet.
you can put more in after that but that is the minimum amount you can use.
I use that in my 629-2 6" with 18.5 gr 2400 but I have switched to 8.5 gr Unique for a nice all around load. The Unique load is a little more accurate in my gun out to 50 yards. I don't have my chrony data handy at the moment. I hope to shoot a deer this fall with my 629.
forgot to mention I tried some over H110 but I had better luck with 2400 and Unique.

My Speer #14 manual has data. Get one.
At 253 gr 22 - 23 gr H110 is a good load. Still suggest WLP or CCI 350 primers, especially if used in colder weather.
