    Any one shooting 50yd offhand

I have been shooting a lot of 50yd off hand NRA -a23 targets. Anyone else practice with these?

    Not that one.
    22BPCR Chicken at 50 meters and 100y 22 Schuetzen (German 25 ring)
22rf offhand is great, cheap practice.

I'll have to look at the a23.

I bought a sillhouette gun this year. Im really wanting a Schutzen rifle. Almost bought one. Sillhouette won out because we have local matches.

I shoot 50yd. offhand frequently, but not on the a23 target. All of my shooting is @ the IHMSA rf pigs & sometimes the chickens.

I only shoot open iron sights with my old Rem. 511. I had cataract surgery 2 years ago that compromised my vision in my right (shooting) eye. I find that if I line up the fuzz & squeeze the trigger properly I can still make some hits fairly consistently on the pigs (the chickens are another story).

At age 78 offhand is getting to be my only option. Sitting & prone take to long to get into & I need help getting back on my feet

The occasional can, dirt clod, woodchuck, feral cat; coyotes, coons foxes;squirrels; we have 5 flavors of those, red fox black grey and ground.
And the only way to be sure to hit the occasional critters is shooting paper plates/cereal boxes beer can at 50 to 75, what I feel is my self a imposed limit for my walking around .22s ;have a heavy barrel beauty queen who can honestly deprime shotgun hulls at 100 yards but she's no fun to carry.

I shoot a metallic league at a local club in the summer. We shoot all the regular distances of 25, 50, 75, and 100 yards. I can usually stay in the upper 30's and twice this year shot a 39x40. It really hurts to miss the first chicken and then go 39 straight! I'm using an out of the box CZ 455 with ammo the gun likes.
