    Question on Ruger Deerstalker

    Hello to all.
I have brought a Ruger Deerstalker in .44 magnum and I am serching the rings to install a little optic.
The question is...: The holes on the receiver are the same of the Ruger 10/22???
There are other rings or weaver that are compatible with this gun?
    Thanks in advance.
    Ciao
    Nino

    .

No, Nino - they are not.

In fact, the holes in the receiver top are not all for scope mounting.

The 2 holes toward the rear of the receiver are to accept the rear scope mount base.

The 2 (larger) holes toward the front of the receiver are for screws that secure the cartridge guide to the roof of the inside of the receiver - and should not be messed with unless doing a repair or replacement.

The 2 holes for the front scope mount base (which is a different height than the rear base) are located atop the rearmost portion of the barrel, between the rear barrel sight and the front of the receiver.

    Hello Pietro.
Thanks for your help. I have not noted that there are others 2 holes on the barrel...
    Thanks again...
