A friend of mine in his late 60's has been a deer hunter all his life. He has hunted with probably all of the available calibers and came to a decision about them long ago. His favorite quote on the matter is "the 35 Remington is the deer-killingest caliber I have ever owned." He carried this caliber in a Marlin 336. I agree with him on both of these matters.

I have two 336 35 Rem. One has a Williams FP and one has a Leupold 1x4.Both regular carbines. I want an SC but have never seen one up here. I shoot an Accurate 360-245S in the scoped rifle and just ordered a MC-220 hp for the one with open sights. Anyone use these boolits?

Finally scratched my .35 Remington itch!

I've been tempted lately to buy another 336 in 35 Remington.....and chop the barrel to somewhere between 16.5"-18". I want a 336D but the prices are to high. And I can do w/out the ported barrel. A 35 Remington Guide Gun is quite appealing due to the areas I hunt.
