Any Savage 220A ejector to extractor conversion experience

Does anyone have any experience converting a Savage 220A ejector system to extractor?
It doesn't seem as straight forward as H&R/NEF system.
    Thanks.

I tried it, I think it could be done if one had the right parts and they were not messed up. Unfortunately Bubba had got to mine first. It also depends on which 220 it is. Numerich has some parts. Some of the parts from break action Savage shotguns may be made to fit. If I had one that ejected I would not try to change it.
Closest recorded range Chrony kill (3 feet with witnesses)

I can understand converting a ejector gun to extractor. I have a Model 219 in 30-30
and the ejector will kick a fired case 15 feet if I don't hold my hand over the action
    on opening.

    Thanks for responses.
I guess I'll mush forward and dissect the barrel(ejector) I have and see if modification can be achieved.
    Thanks again.

the Ejector on these 220-219s really work well unless your spring is missing or broke

I love my .22 Hornet 219, but I'd love it more if it had an extractor rather than an ejector.

Can't ya play with the spring? maybe do some changing so it doesn't eject so violently ...........The contender has the same system
without a spring !!!! Ol Deuce

I have the 219 in 22H and have learned to twist the gun to the left when opening to eject the empty to my chest. Other wise they head for orbit and are gone.

I have developed a similar drill, haven't lost a case in quite a while, but it sure is nice when a single shot extracts. The CVAs currently made extract and I almost have to get used to it after the Savage and H&Rs. Great little guns except for that.

Amen. H&R was easy to convert to extractor in my situation with 30-30(rimmed) case.
Think any "do it myself" barrels will be rimmed also!
Just question how easy rimless will/would be.
