    Soft lead

Will this make soft lead for muzzloader bullets? I know the pipe is but I'm not sure what the joint is made from.

That is a wiped solder joint from plumbing. My samples usually test in the area of 30% tin. It would be good to melt the solder off the joints as it has a lower melt temp than pure lead. Keep it and clean up a nice sized batch and then add a little at a time if you need to, for well filled out molds. If you leave a little on the joint it will be fine with the final melt when turning into ingots. It is always nice to have a little tin rich alloy on hand when needed. Good find, keep looking for more. Dusty
