Shot the FR8 today. It has been quite a while since shooting it. Lee 155gr. GC over 12gr. Unique. They did really well.
Also shot the Yugo capture K98 with the Lee 175gr. GC over 13gr. Ollllld Green Dot. They did pretty good too. Only at 50 yds.

You can miss fast & you can miss a lot, but only hits count.
That boolit works well in so many cartridges. I have the 6 cavity version. I load it over 10 gr. unique for my 1916 Spanish Mauser. How is the weather up there?

A day at the range, a little cool weather and an old milsurp rifle - it ain't gonna get much better than that. Gotta love it.

I have to admit it was cool when I arrived.......The Legion Post Commander was there and said "no shooting today, we're rebuilding the range backstop"...I chit chatted for a while and I was going to leave due to the no shooting thing. The wife was at home with a fever and a stomach bug and my 2 boys were there too and I had a good bit of chores.
I tipped my hat and said I'm outta here...But then decided to stay and help rebuild the range. By the end of tearing down the old backers (1/4 inch rubber conveyor belts 8ft. long) it was hot. When it was all done we just stood around and jaw jacked.
I wasn't going to shoot due to the wife and chores thing, but I brought 2 Milsurps and 4 Smith wheelguns. So shoot I did!
Got home and changed my oil and rotated/aired up tires on truck and cleaned up guns. Haven't processed brass yet. That Lee load is a keeper in .308!

Never enough hours in a day! Yes Sir it's a good load - easy on the gun too...

My FR8 is my favorite rifle for just about everything. I've done well with the Lee 312-155-2R but, like the Lyman 314299 better. This rifle has shot upwards of 30.000 rounds of cast boolits from it, not to mention the jacketed bullets. Sorry, mine isn't original, I'm not a purist and I've changed it a lot for my own use. I do wish I saved the diopter rear sight, though.
A deplorable that votes!
