Lee 1oz slugs with Fiocchi primed hulls data needed

Hello everyone,i wanted to ask if anyone has any load data/recipes for the Lee 1oz slugs that have worked good using the primed Fiocchi 12g hulls that bpi sells?. I have a couple hundred of those hulls and would like to use them if possible but have not found any info with those specific hulls. Powder, wads, etc don't matter since I will buy whatever is needed to work with a recipe. If they won't work I'll just buy some different primed hulls that I have seen listed with other recipes. I also have the 7/8oz slug mould if anything is out there for those with the Fiocchi hulls. Thanks a lot for your time/help if anyone knows!.

Any one ounce Fiocchi lead shot load should work for the Lee 1oz slug.
You just substitute the Lee slug for the shot.

Most people would agree that the pressure will be slightly lower when substituting a slug for the lead shot ... and all other components stay the same.

Here some load data from the Advantages Manual 10th Edition:

    Hope this helps ...

    Agree with Faustus.

In my case I went with the 7/8ths oz slug, and mostly cheap rio primed hulls.
Lots loaded just been having a hard time finding the energy to test them.

Faustus is correct. An ounce of lead is an ounce of lead. Your shotgun isn't going to notice any significant difference between shot and slug's of the same weight. I've loaded hundreds of LEE's 1 oz. slugs in a variety of hulls with no issues. Load um and shoot um.

I've used other slug load data for straight walled hulls with the 2 3/4" Fiocchi hulls with no issues. Just use a similar wad to what is called for but with the right cushion leg to give good crimp. You can use the slug in a deep cup by putting one or two 1/8" nitro card wads under it to space it up as well.

You might do a search of the BPI Load of the Week archive too. Lots of good info there:

or as already mentioned, just sub the slug for equal weight of birdshot. That is a safe way of loading slugs though the velocities will not be as high as most slug specific load data will give.

Hello, here we have done a few pressure barrel tests to see what happens when the same powder charge for a 1oz pellet shot is applied to a 1 oz slug. There is a drop of about 150 bar, about 2000 psi. Therefore i would suggest that you increase the powder charge by 15% when you load a slug.

From what I have read fiocci hulls have very close to the same volume as the gold medal hulls.
Here is an interesting read, take from it what you will

    Good read sir, thank you.

I knew there was a reason I liked those Rio's.
