Sprue plates

i ended up with a bunch of sprue plates. I don't know anything about sprue plates except they go onto the top of a mold.
I am moving and not taking these with me. Anyone want them that knows more about them.
I am 30 from RCBS so they may be related... one was marked RCBS.
they are 2 hole or 3 hole and some blanks. I don't know what the other cyl. of metal are.
I just hate to throw them away. If someone knew about sizes etc. they could maybe match them to molds.
in second pic is a little tool... i know i have seen one somewhere before.... anyone know what it is?

They do wear out, and are sold separately.

I'd take them on the move and sell 'em later on S&S.
You won't make your fortune- but it looks like a couple hundred bucks there.

Where did they come from? There is a possibility they are rejects from RCBS tool room. I had a good friend in Oroville that passed away some years ago, in his estate there were several boxes of die bodies and assorted pins, all from the scrap barrel at RCBS. We ended up scraping them as it was too much work to sort out anything useful. He had a massive collection of esoteric loading tools. A lot of them followed me home and the rest I contracted an eBay seller to pick up for $27,000 2008 dollars.
Just to illustrate the size of the estate.

That is not a problem. You were asking for info and sharing your find that's just find. We usually make a reminder post in these types of threads just to be safe and try to keep it generic since in the beginning they are informational but may be too big of temptation for someone to offer to buy the item. Thank you for showing us what you have.

RCBS bought out Lachmiller Engineering Co. as their means of getting into the casting aspect of reloading tool sales. The three-cavity mould was a Lachmiller standard, so those three-hole sprue plates may be leftover Lachmiller stock. The two holers would probably fit RCBS moulds, if you have one to check against.

Don’t know what those cylindrical things are, or what the little spanner tool might fit.

Whatta haul! I’d have grabbed it up too, just on general principle.

Somebody somewhere is in , or will be in need of a new sprue plate .A year or two ago I damaged a saeco 4 cavity sprue plate and ordered a new one not only was it 50 bucks or more , but the wait time was 4-6 weeks . Thank goodness a member fixed me up with one that he found at a gun show , by the way I kept the one I got as a replacement for a just in case need .
