    .460 S&W rifle data

I just placed an order for one of Lipsey's .460 in a No.1 and in light of that I am wondering if anyone has any information they would like to share regarding different loads, primarily slower stuff like 4198 or Reloader 7. I'm thinking that the additional barrel length will make it a practical proposition. I've done a bit with .460 in the past but was limited to 4227/110/2400 mostly focusing on handgun proven loads, plenty of data for that but there seems to be a lack of info for rifles. Thanks,
    Jeff

While I don't have any info regarding loading, the concept sounds intriguing and honestly, that should be a hot little ticket.

Look at comparisons to the 45 raptor which is a rimmless 460

the extra barrel length, and lack of a cylinder gap will take care of velocity gains.

if you want to go further then stepping off with the next slowest powder could help.
at some point your pressures will start going down and you will lose velocity.
I'd look at 1680 right off, it will pack in the case better and give you some nice gains in velocity past 4227.
