    NOE / Ranch dog alternative

Just wondering who makes an alternative/equivalent to NOE's Ranch dog C311 165Gr. RF RG2 cavity GC (RD).

I have emailed NOE and have got no response. Does not look like they have made them in a while.
    Preferably aluminum or steel.

Ranch Dog did not design that bullet with a hollow-point. Michael realizes that a decent meplat is all you need, which has been proven. If you don't want a real Ranch Dog 165 grain 30-30, then wait for the contraption.

I don't think I've ever heard anyone say that when it comes to bullet design. Guns, cars and a bunch of other stuff.....you bet.

You can always buy one from Accurate and hollowpoint it w/ the Forster tool.

Already have half a dozen other .30 molds which cast bullets that perform their assigned duties most admirably. Just looking for something more exotic.

I am not sure what exotic means in this context. Shoot, kill, Dead.
Too bad the Ranch Dog is not "exotic". It just kills things.

This will give you 159grs with FP and 151grs with HP, its a GC 308 Hunting (312-159 GC HP/FP) from MP-Molds, so you can have both worlds. Very accurate in 308 and 300BO.

You could just buy the tumble lube version then.

you need to clean your mold before you damage it. Put some Bullplate on the lead scabs, wait a few minutes and scrape off with a chop stick.

I would call Al, the number is at the bottom of his website.
I see he has Zero stock of any C311 Ranch Dog molds, that's a popular one, I'm sure if he is asked he'll make time to squeeze it in a batch.

If you want the GC version:

If you want the PB version:

I use the PB version because I make my own PB gas checks. Haven't tested any yet because it has been too warm here in recent weeks, hurricanes, and now cross country meets. I have a set with regular lube and another set with powder coating ready to go for two different Winchester 1894s.

Those would be great if they were offered with a hollowpoint option.
