I don't see how you could go wrong with the 311041, seems to work in everything. The Ranchdog 165 grain .30-30 bullet should be good too.
Watch out for designs with a fat nose. There is not much of a throat in these rifles. Also, the action will not cycle with lightweight boolits or slow loads. Pretty much anything meant for 30-30 has worked in mine. Bores can run small, mine is .307.
Back in the land of boolits.
Pretty much anything designed and intended for the .30-30 Winchester will do just fine in the .30 Remington. The Model 8 prefers round-noses, so something like the Lyman/Ideal No.308291 comes to mind.
My 308291 has given me problems in 30-30 and 30 Rem, I have to seat it well below the crimp groove in order to chamber them, so I tried the Lee 170 FN bullet and had much better results. Apparently my Model 8 likes 23 grains of 3031, because every box of .30Rem I have is loaded with that load! I don't have a chronograph so I'm guessing 1500-1600 FPS, pleasant to shoot and cycles my 8 every time.
