Sizing to fit a Stop Ring bullet for conventional use .

The only thing I hate worse than a sale with nothing I need is when there's a sale and what I want is available but wrong for my needs .

Enter the NOE 32/8mm sale .....
Normally I'd be excited to have a sale on pointy bullets , but my needs are changing . That and I really don't need a 215+ gr in a 32 Rem (very similar to the 32 Win Spl ) , I suspect it wouldn't stabilize anyway . What I want for it is an FP for a tube mag slide action .

This stop ring bullet has 5 bands and the top 2 are .334 to go with the .322 lower bands . The nose is good for the M14 Rem but the .334 is a size down of .011 I use a .323 (true) dia Lee push through for this rifle and a .325-6 won't chamber so I'm walking a razors edge already .......this feels like if you have to ask you already know the answer ......... The rifle shoots a PB 325-175 (170?) 2R well enough at jacketed speeds for 50 -75 yd pigs which was what I needed at the time I was working up the rifle . I stayed with the 2r mostly because it was available ,and I couldn't see spending $80-100 on a mould when they could be had for $20............darn dumb kids anyway . So I'm smarter now , get it and I'm in a place where I don't have to make do for now .

    On to the question .
The 322-180 SR looks like the cats pajamas for this except for the .334 bands . If I size the bands down , grooves full of lube etc in one pass is it likely I'll blow the base with an HT softened WW alloy at 16-18 bhn ?

Would I be better off to wait for the right bullet ?

Maybe size the Lee from .326 butt first making a faux flat nose ?

    Maybe I'm just tired ?

    Link to the bullet ......

    you'll jack it all up.
I'd just buy one of these for the 32 remington and worry about something else.

Yep kinda what I was thinking .

I'll find something else . I'm sure I can whip up something at Mountain Moulds .

Just for reference if you go for something custom, Accurate's 32-155L is a flat nosed copy of Lyman's design for the .32 Remington. Fills up the neck just right and feeds well. I don't think I would mess with sizing down a stop ring bullet just to get in on a sale.
