This is a forgotten project . My daughter and I were going to cut it down for her a youth rifle . Got sidetracked teaching her to blue some pistols and a member on another form gave her a ready to go youth rifle . It is a 45 cal CVA , two piece stock cap lock . I took it to the range and fired it several times (heck my little girl was going to be shooting it ) , it did fine , was not trying for tight groups mainly safety .
The barrel was shortened (needs be crowned) , It to my opinion is functional . Lock is strong . Finish is rough but nothing can't be made nice . You will get the cut off 'chunk' (thought about making a single shot pistol with it") with the rifle .
This video taken 8 years ago might tell what we planned on doing . Sorry , ramrod has been lost in my 'junk room' In the video she says the barrel is rusted up , actually was black oily gunk , bore came out decent or I would not have considered a rebuild.
