    CLAYS for reduced rifle loads

I have a good amount of clays powder left over. I used to load 38spl and 45acp with it.
I do not see CLAYS mentioned much for reduced rifle loads. Is anyone using it and if so for what

I occasionally use CLAYS for reduced loads in my .30-06 with the Lee 113gr. "soup can" bullet, from which Ben removed the GC shank and made me a present of. Although I've used loads as light as 4.5gr. and as "heavy" as 6.5gr., my best accuracy was between 5 and 6gr. For heavier PB CB's, e.g., 175gr., I use and recommend Unique in that cartridge, but no more than 12.6gr. Just be careful not to double charge so large a case with either propellant.

Haven't tried Clays, but I use all sorts of fast burning powders for reduced loads in my rifles (700X, Herco, HP-38, W231), so I would expect Clays to work fine as well.

I tried Clays that I have in excess in my 06 and an NOE 155 bullet sized to .311 and gas checked. Multiple loads and all had 6-9" vertical stringing at 100 yards. Red Dot and Unique have not exhibited this phenomenon.
