    Did a little shooting today.

A break in the rain let me sit down and shoot this morning. I'm facing shoulder surgery so I had to quit too soon but I liked the results. Ignore the 22-250 group (it's in development). I love this 93 Mauser 30-30!

    Most excellent.

Of note, I've had excellent results with both Benchmark and 8208 XBR in my 22-250

I 've had good results with Benchmark in .223 and .308.
If you wish you can pm your loads in the 22-250.
Currently I'm using Superformance with 55gr Vmax @3800 for daily use. I won't buy any more of that powder because it's use is so narrow. I get good speed and accuracy at least but so do several other powders.
    Best, Thomas.

God willing, I will get my first CB deer this fall. I have the 30-30 and the .358 lined out. Thanks, Thumbcocker!

TBG, both loads are within 1 grain of published max with 50gr Hornady V Max. as with any firearm, an accurate load in my gun may not be very accurate in yours.

Nice! For some reason I've always wanted a bolt gun in 30WCF, glad to see someone who understands.

Thank you everyone. It's no Win 54 or Rem 788 but it shoots like them. I hope others will build one.
    Best,Thomas.

It looks to me like it is as good a rifle as any Winchester or Remington and probably better. I have a 788 .30-30. Given the choice I would most likely choose the Mauser. You did good with that one.

GREAT SHOOTING!!!!!!...that Mauser sure looks good to me ..I've got two Winchester 54's in 30-30 they don't look that good..

BTW....did you try bullets sized .310...might work even better..

So other that making sure one always places each rim in the front of the one below when loading are there any feeding issues with the 30-30?
