WTB: 14" Contender .44 Barrel for 444 Marlin conversion project

The title says it all. I'm looking for a used .44 Magnum or .444 Marlin TC Contender barrel, preferably in 14".

Can pay cash or trade lead, components.

    Thanks!

There is one up for sale on GB right now. http://www.gunbroker.com/item/689756761

I used to have one in 10" and it is a beast! Just keep in mind you cannot load full loads or shoot factory ammo in it, it will stretch the frame.

Be sure to use steel rings and bases on it. My first trip out with mine landed the scope behind me. Shattered the rings and tore the bases. I don't recall the exact load but it was a mild one for the .444 Marlin.

I have a 14" 444 Schafer Mag Blued with Brake, if that interests you I will get it out of the safe and get some pictures. I have never shot this barrel so I have minimal information.

I've got a Super 14" 44 mag high gloss ported barrel that's nearly new. I received it in trade and shot about 25 rounds through it for grins and it's sat since.

Ed at Ed's Contenders seems to think he'll have an already converted 14 coming in soon. I'll PM back ASAP if that doesn't happen.

    Thanks!

Don't let anyone scare you away from the conversion. I have a super 14 converted to .430 JDJ which is shortened only .10". I've had it for 30yrs and it's a hoot to shoot. Accuracy is better than the original 44mag. I use LEE 310GC or a NEI that is 320g and quite a bit of 4198. Both shoot great. You might want to look into a .430 reamer though as it is designed/throated for cast bullets. When I shot IHMSA I used it for 40 rd matches and never rung a ram even in winter when they were frozen to the rail. I really like mine.
