    Question Easy Elevation Adjustment 'Scopes...

Looking for a ‘scope that has the elevation turret showing the clicks, not the ranges…

I presently use a Burris variable but have to take the cover off and then turn the adjustment dial. It is quite difficult to turn...

I used to use the holdover marks to shoot out to 350 yards but I found it is much much easier to use QL and move the number of clicks it indicates—hold dead on with crosshairs and fire away. At ~1950 fps second, movement of 42+ clicks is needed for a 350 yards crosshair hold, when the rifle is zeroed at around 150 yards. The Rainbow...

If I can’t find a ‘scope with the clicks shown on the outside of the elevation turret, can the ‘scopes with the tall turrets be turned easier, even if the cover must be removed?...

Any suggestions? Would like to stay under $800 if possible…

Been looking on the Optic Planet website…

    Thanks…BCB

The Leupold custom shop might do it for you on one of their scpopes. I bought a used Leuopld scout scope that was marked in moa and had no clicks. I love it with my .357 rifle for various ranges shooting .38's.

I am using a Weaver T36 target scope that has a second set of turrets available that don't use the covers that come mounted from the factory. They are marked in minutes of angle and from a 200 yard zero I can adjust vertically at least 15 minutes of angle. Those turrets make it easy to tell just how far you have moved your impact point.
Adjustments are easy but not too easy and it holds zero for me on my 30-06.
Each click is 1/8 moa so I use the lines rather than count clicks. There are eight lines in between each moa number on the dial. Each full turn on the dial gives a 9 moa change.
Cost is currently about $470 at Midway.

    I’m checkin’ them out…

A bit pricier than I thought in most cases. But, I suppose you get what you pay for…

My main problem is I really don’t have any place local to look at the actual ‘scopes I am considering via the Net. Although I wouldn’t be against purchasing at a LGS, but they are very limited in my area and their stock of ‘scopes is small—the most popular with the average hunter—most don’t use a tactical turret ‘scope…

Guess, I’ll keep trying to decide by looking a Websites and their specs…

    Thanks…BCB

I have 3 of the swfa ss scopes. Fixed power. Well worth the price also a Nikon m-223 and a vortex viper. You won't go wrong with any of those

I use a cheap scope with a turrent on the verticle.
It is calibrated for everything but std vel 22lr in yrds.
Made up a Moa paper markings on the computer up to 3x turns.
Stuck the paper to the turrent and lightly sprayed with clear laquer.
When completely dry gave another coat.
Still working well after 5 yrs.
    Just a work around.
