    Pewter haul- how is $8 for 3.9lbs?

    Picked up at salvation army today, $2/Lb seem alright?

    That's a great price as long as they're all pewter. Are they marked "pewter" on the bottom?

    Even Quadraplate is ok, a couple of those seem brassy yellowish.

    Don't they fall when you set them on the ceiling like that?
    They look too nice to melt. As far as scrap value. Tin is selling for $9.34 per lb today. So figure that the scrap is probably worth about $8 per lb, you got it at about 25% of the going rate. If I had that stuff I would research it to see if it has any value for being in the form it is in. as in antique or art etc. It just could be worth a lot more than the scrap price.

    Maybe they are coin silver with gold washed interior made in the 17th century. If so it would be a shame to melt them and add them to lead.

    Now you guys have me thinking.... I will do some research this weekend and try and find if they are worth more to someone else than to me as boolits LOL
