MP - H&G 50 38 Wadcutter Rerun Hollow Base Brass or 8 Cavity Solid Aluminum

I just chatted with Miha and he is good with a rerun on this design he said we are good to go on a high output 8 Cavity aluminum to is solid form only...

Tell your friends and lets get the ball rolling

This is a group buy for a .360 diameter hollow base/ nose pour modification of the popular Hensley & Gibbs #50 wadcutter bullet for 38 special.

    Attachment 202756Attachment 202758Attachment 202759
    Attachment 202757

Here are some images from the last group buy...

Have sketched up a 146gr solid, ~128gr cone or dome HB cavity (identical HB cavity to the 358431, a HB version of the 358429)
Added the cone design, I estimate it could have be driven a little faster with a wider margin of safety, and exhibit better bullet base fillout.

I cannot stress enough a hollow base version is for gallery/ target loads only, and serves to better shoot point of aim, using less powder and lead.

Either of the three configurations will give the shooter room to experiment for optimum accuracy with given firearm and powder selection .

Benefits of a hollow base: Allows skirt to open for better obturation at lower pressures & gallery loads. Less lead, less powder, better accuracy.

Benefits of a nose pour design: Base forms more consistently, and is protected from opening/closing of the sprue plate (gaps, tear outs, improper fill out, voids, dings) The nose of a bullet can take far more abuse than the base can, and more consistent bullet bases means more consistent group size.

    to order:
please specify # of cavities, specific or all pins, with your disguised email.

Sequence of events: Participants order molds and are placed on the list, the Group Buy will close (which will be posted on the thread) at some time determined by MiHec, the molds are made from the orders on the list at the time it is closed or by altering what you want via PM to MiHec after it's closed. Extra molds should be available... order them by PM to MiHec. Invoices will be sent out via e-mail from the listed addresses and you pay by using Paypal...... It is my understanding the invoice will be in Euros which Paypal converts from Euros to dollars. After you pay, the mold gets shipped.

    Prices

2 Cavity HP: 95 euros including shipping, all pins, top punch and allen keys

4 Cavity HP: 135 euros including shipping, all pins, top punch and allen keys

8 cavity aluminum solid 95 euros

The conversion of Euro's to dollars will happen when Miha sends the invoice via PayPal.

GROUP BUY DISCOUNT OF 15% OFF AT THE TIME OF INVOICE FROM MIHA

Pins available: Dome, cone, and flat

Please include your disguised email address and what style of mold you would like....

Highly recommend this great mold for those who enjoy 38 specials. I've been shooting H&G 50s my whole life and they are great once you have a load developed. The new HB mold from Miha is another one of his works of art and once prepped pours very easily while being very close to the original if not surpassing it.

For those not sold on the benefits of HB, if you bullet pull Remington factory wad cutters you will find that they are also hollow base.
