Hunting gloves for nasty cold & wet

Anyone have a good experience with a good set of hunting gloves?

Having lived in ND & MT for 40 years - somehow I'm still looking....

Specifically,
With or without liners;
Waterproof for real (not just marketed as such);
Stop & go type of elk hunting; nimbleness not a big deal
Down to single digit temps

My grandfather who farmed and logged in Minnesota swore by choppers mitts for really cold weather. The leather outers might not be the greatest for wet conditions.

Gortex or similar, choppers with polypropylene liners.

I always used the thin wool army surplus gloves. I would put those inside oversized mittens. I sometimes keep the heating patches in the mittens. If I needed dexterity for something, the wool gloves were enough to do whatever was needed for a short time and then I could warm my hands in the mittens.
