Those long barrels take more lube to get the star. I do get one on my 45-90s 34" barrel but it takes 5-7 rounds to do it. Finding the right compression of he powder increases efficiency and lessening the fouling a lot allowing the lube to go farther. I normally use SPG and emmerts improved for lubes. I woud chronograph this load nd see where velocity is and Check standard deviation and extreme spread numbers.

No on the DGL.........I will be buying lube shortly, will try some.
Now I have noticed that the residue in the cases after firing is a whole bunch moister with the Old "E". With regular GOEX the residue was a powdery, dry like, ash. The residue with the Old "E" is almost "gooey".
After 5-6 rounds, I ran a patch, and there was no hard crusty reside as with the regular GOEX. I could actually feel the difference between the powders. That was with the same amount of blow tubing.
