    Wilderness Rifle Works

In my search for a .36 caliber rifle I came across a percussion rifle made by Wilderness Rifle Works. Do you guys have any experience with these?

    Thanks in advance,

I've only read about them. Apparently they weren't in production very long. Although the product was reputed to be a sound American rifle at a reasonable price, they lacked the distribution network to compete with the likes of CVA and T/C. I've also heard that Deer Creek Products bought out Wilderness Rifle Works, but there is no mention of WRW on their site.

Pedersoli makes a few nice 32 caliber rifles for reasonable prices.

IDK squat about Wilderness, but would suggest you look for a .36cal T/C Cherokee (bottom gun, below) or Seneca (upper gun, below) capgun.

I've heard of them bu don't know much about them.

It seems to me, and this is just my opinion, that thee is a market for a "reasonably" picd .36 cal. I know edesoli has some smaller calibers and there is the Crockett as well. I had 32s years ago and now my fingers just fumble too much with that small of a ball.

Another alternatiive if you are looking for a 36 is to maybe build one? If you could find a good .36 barrel you could put together a under hammer - Pecatonica has the action and the stocks. I have a .36 under hammer that Deer Creek made years ago following the old H & A lines. It is an awesome little rifle - fun for planning and I took a few tree rats and bunnies with it years ago when I hunted. If you cold find an older H & A at a reasonably good price you could always put a 36 barrel on it if it had a larger be barrel and then switch back and forth as need. Just a thought.

    Good luck in your search!
