I usually wait until I see it for $1 a lb + shipping. Order in bulk to save on the shipping costs and make USPS hate you.

I am lucky. I have a "source", & right now I currently buy at $.78-80 a pound. I have to drive 30 miles round trip, but it is worth it to me. I also have to smelt it into ingots & remove the sheetrock/glue from the lead sheets. Still worth it to me. I really know what I am getting...
I would not want to pay over $1.00 +/- (going rate for lead/see market price) per pd. + shipping, if I did not have this current source. Of course that can change as my source might dry up...
( I just lost a deal on 500 pounds of un prepped lead from a fella less than 10 miles away because he got offered 1.25 per pound for it. I offered $500... I still would have had to deal with the smelting into ingots. He offered the lead & I would not pay that extra amount due to the current source & the deal I made with them.)
Interesting to hear what folks will pay. Some locations have it better than others for different types & sources...
I consider myself lucky right now. That can change any day...

$1 a pound is max I'll pay. I can generally get it locally for .70/pound
Considering that you can purchase Stick On WW lead from a VS on the board for $63 for 50 pounds shippped, I would say that $1 per pound plus flat rate shipping would be the market value.
Yes SO WW isn't 100% pure lead but for many its close enough.
