🐣 way to shake the #5 jar and not crack top

I was having the screw on tops of my containers crack now and then after I shook the contents in Superman-like fashion. I needed to shake hard but the cheap plastic wasn't holding up to this.

then, by accident, I found that if I rotate the container so the top is 90° to the ground I could really shake hard and the top and bottom sides of the container were taking all the Force. Since the container's sides are thicker than the top the cracking has been eliminated.

I guess it depends on the container. I've had the sides crack and powdercoat me and half my garage a few times.

The first thing I do with the screw on top containers is to wrap the sides with clear packaging tape.
This keeps the sides from cracking as fast.

You must be shaking the s--- out of them AND damaging the boolits. All it takes is gentle swirling and occasional turning upside down.

I shake just enough to get the bullets to flow through the bb's,
then swirl so I can see the powder distribute through things better then shake again.
probably 20 seconds of shaking, more like rattling a maraca.

I don't even recover my powder after the second shaking.
I toss it out and measure new into the container.

I've switched to PVC. You can shake it until the cows home bake and it isn't going to break.

yes ....i spray the boolits on a 12" square steel sheet , then use hemostats to transfer the boolits to a parchment paper lined baking tray.

to reclaim the overspray i use a 3" paint brush to sweep the powder off the first 12" sheet.

all this is done in a spray cabinet that i built.

everything is clean before and after spraying....so, yes....i reclaim as much as i can. waste not , want not.

PVC containers don't break. I don't even need to shake them. Swirling iitnwith the airsoft BBS is all that is needed.

I use Smokes clear, and all it takes is 20 seconds of lite circular swirling in an old #5 yogurt container. When I was trying to use some colored PBTP from fleabay, I cracked several containers. Not anymore!
