Anyone use a gun collector software?

There used to be a program MygunDB that was an inventory for your firearms. It seems to be just hung out there without support or a version that actually works.

Anyone use a program, besides Excel? I found an online only version but I'm not crazy about that...

I use a program from Burnsoft, called My Gun Collection. I bought it years ago, when I was running Windows 7. I now run Windows 10, and have no issues. I'm very happy with this program. I believe you can download a limited free version to evaluate. I believe the full version cost is $15.00.

It seems that this is pretty much all that is available. I looked it over and it meets my needs so I'm going to buy it. Thanks so much for the tip.

I have an OLD version of "Collection Master" that I got off of FleaBay many yeas ago, I like it and it works for many of my other collections as well, had it running on Windows XP on my old computer and it works just as well on with Windows 7 on my new computer.

I don't understand why there is no modern software for this. Have all the programmers gone over to making idiot apps for android phones?

I made a program using Access when I was in college, it was a little more cosmetically appealing than Excel. It printed out like a spreadsheet or similar to Excel. It was on a 3.5 floppy disc...dont even know if it still around. We tossed a few things out when we moved a couple years ago.

Forgot to mention I also made a program for inventory in visual basic, it was one of those classes when you set down on the 1st day and the teacher told you this class is obsolete. Those classes are always money well spent...lol!

I use eFirearms from Fuhr Software. It's pretty basic, but it does the job nicely. It also has the provision to enter handloads for each firearm.

I used MyGunDB for a few years, then sometime in early 2016 it just quit working, I think Adobe updated the framework and it broke the program. I just went with a series of Excel docs to replace it, easy to whip up a freeform sheet whenever I feel the need. One of these days I'll create an Access or better yet a Filemaker Pro database, but they take a lot more planning than Excel requires.

    See post #8.

It doesn't have to be modern software. A database of spreadsheet is extremely simple to make and all you need. The program just has to run on a current OS. I have a spreadsheet, stored in two locations. Along w/ a hard copy that's in a safety deposit box.

I use excel , insert object then create from file then click display as icon, can be receipt or pic, whatever then you can re size the icon to fit in the same size box as other text or number boxes and clicking icon opens up whatever is there
