Call Dave at CH4D a call and see what he has for dies. May have them on the shelf, will make them.

There is no 'right' that requires me to work for you or you to work for me!
Thanks Wayne I may do that if the ersatz method fails!

https://www.prvipartizan.com/bbcases.php is a link for blank brass specs, I wonder if one could order just the blank brass that doesn't have the peddles formed yet
Thanks Jim. I sent Privi an email;
I have low hopes but we'll see!

Ok, I have them de-milled and will ship tomorrow. Good luck with your project!
I don't see how you would get 7.62x39 cases to work for the 7.62x45 cases. The Czechoslovakian 7.62x45 cases appear to be too long. The 7.62x39 blanks may work, but I think to get around the crimping on the end, you would have to unload the cases and anneal them really good and carefully work the crimps out. Maybe fire them in a regular 7.62x39 carbine first would be easier. Then work on the cases carefully.

the 7.62x45 is on the left and the 7.62x39 is on the right.

Firing in a SKS was the first thing i tried. The petals all split. I'm going to try extreme annealing next.

And thanks for the spec drawing too.

I got the Dewat ammo. Thank you again. It's great to have a visual aid or two!

I was happy to send the ammo. Let us know how this works. I may pick up a vz52 if you can figure this out.
I'm one armed for a few weeks but then I'll pursue it further. It is too neat of a gun to leave alone. If anyone has first hand knowledge of Numrich chamber bushings- I'm listening. That would be the best option if it works .

This is what we're looking at. Trying to turn the center one into the right one (on the right)

Reference the vz52/57, found one in Iraq in 04'. Gun was more enjoyable to shoot then SKS's.

Apparently the handguards take a beating. That one is missing; mine is cracked. I'll post up some pics later. There may be some 52/57 barrels somewhere in the Czech Republic; my ideal solution would be to find one!
Of course I would rather shoot x39 than hand craft x45. Any day!

Here it is. If I get it going, I'll get the parts to complete it. Better sights than an SKS and to me, a better feel. I hope I can get the 100% reliability the SKS has.

Playing with making a chamber bushing and annealing/expanding the blank cases. I drilled a hole in the center of the rose crimp, shook out the powder. Then I put a quarter inch of water inside the case and stood it in one inch of water. Hit the crimp with a torch to anneal.
Used a tapered punch to expand the neck till they started to split, then ground to length. When the primer is dry I will load with some Unique and cornmeal and breech seat a light .312" boolit.
If none of the above works I will explore making a 7.62x39 barrel for it I guess.

I read years ago someone used a cutdown .303 sizing die
to form these. I hope the crimp doesn't split for you! Keep
us updated. Thanks.
