    Which Scope

I have on order a Thompson Center Impact and wanting to install one of two scopes.

    1:Nikon P223 3X9/40

    2:Center Point 1x10/24 Illuminated

Both are new and sitting on my bench with no home.
I hunt where most shots are between 50 to 125 yards.
Just need some input on which way I should go.

Nikon P223 3X9/40 all the way. It will handle recoil as well as any other Nikon scope but the trajectories will be off but they have a calculator for muzzleloaders here http://spoton.nikonsportoptics.com/s...n.html#Index:4

I have 2 Nikon 3x9x40, Inline XR 300, has BDC reticles, every 50ys, for real world ML trajectories out to 300yds!!I have used a Leica Rangefinder, set up the targets, and shooting 100grains of BH 209, with Harvester black crush rib sabots, and Plastic tip 300 grain copper jacketed slug, will shoot under 3"@300yds.
I have taken deer here in KY on grain fields, and Mule deer hunting with Johnson 1942, at 190-225yds, with none going over 2 steps! Natchess shooter supply has these for $159.99, Just ordered one for a friend.

Koger,if I can get this to shoot 3" at 300yds. I'd be happy as a pig in BBQ sauce.

One plus to the 1x is the larger field of view up close and when in brush finding and identifying targets.

Your impact is the same 1-28" twist barrel as my Omega and Encore. Pm me any time for loads, and places to buy the bullets and sabots factory direct, made here in KY!!!The 300 grain ballistic tip would be down and dirty medicine for hogs!! The 3x9 scope, turned down to 3 is great for woods hunting.

I have a Leupold VX2 3x9 on my Impact, with Leupold mount. I'm very impressed with the accuracy of my Impact, all shots touching at 100 yds from a sandbag rest. I use the Hornady .452 250 grain SST saboted bullets over 95 grains of BH209 with a CCI Magnum 209 primer. It may be an inexpensive rifle, but it is certainly a solid performer. I wouldn't hesitate to put the Nikon 3x9 on yours. Your gonna love it.

Well in the beginning I had ordered a new T/C Impact, and it was to be delivered by FedEx today and nothing. I checked the tracking and it was in Florida but nowhere near me.From what I can tell it's about 150 miles south of me (guessing)and a maybe a Tuesday delivery. I did have it shipped 3 day select, well that's my story for today.
