    Smoke comparison:



    Shooting BH209 in an inline muzzleloader is like shooting a .308 smokeless cartridge. Smoke (or lack thereof) is the same, clean up is the same (Hoppe's No9 or CLP).

    I prefer the smokey stuff when I have the itch for muzzleloading. If I take all that time time to load up for one shot, I want to experience the shot. At $10/pound and granules the size of cat litter, BlackMZ is a lot of fun for the range. I still have to build my CVA percussion rifle to get more of the experience, then a flinchlock to go all the way. But for now, smokey stuff with bare bullets for the experience, BH209 and 45 ACP bullets in sabots for accuracy.
