    Picked up a few boxes of 222.. OOPS..

    OOPs, it turns out to be 222 RIMED! How odd is that. I think there were some single shots that used a rimed version of the .222 but my Ruger #1 isn't one of them.. Cool little cases.

    If I remember correctly, it was popular in Germany. It was used on Roe deer I think. But then again, my memory is not what it used to be.

    Well the .222 Rimmed originated in Australia. It spread out from there. Mostly they used it in single shot rifles based on the Martini Cadet actions. They also used the case to make a number of wildcat cartridges too.

    I remember when the .222 Remington first came out. It was all the rage with varmint hunters. It was and is a great cartridge in both rimmed or rimless.
