ppu brass and ammo

Are they all boxer primed? Specifically 7.62x54R. Everything so far from google says yes.But I place my trust in you guys first.

Every piece of PPU brass that I have found on the ranges have been boxer primed. Never saw it advertised any other way either. james

Yes, all commercial ppu is boxer primed. I have some military surplus ppu .303 which has red lacquered primers which is berdan primed.

The boxes aren't marked like Tula,which says they are berdan.Thanks ya'll.

I have shot it in 308 30-06 7-08 and 762x54
All were boxer primed. The 7-08 accuracy was spectacular but the bullets were thin jacketed and basically blew up in deer

All of my factory PPU is boxer primed yes.

Same for some empty brass I found.

Good stuff IMO.

I did a little comparison shopping at one point, brass was 50 cents a piece at the time. PPU loaded ammo was selling for 64 cents each. 14 cents over the brass price.

Seemed pretty reasonable at the time so I bought a fair amount.

I pulled 20 rounds, did some mexican match using my own cast. Kept the bullets, weighed charges and kept the powder. So I could reload them if I wanted to.

I have since found more brass but it was enough to get me shooting cast in my Mosin's at the time.

Privi became and remains one of my favored trusted sources for both loaded ammo and brass. I've yet to have a bad experience with it. Price tends to be a bit more reasonable. Win win IMO, YMMV.

My #2 son will be 26 on Tuesday.Prior 101st,and a DAV too.Seems young,but so was I.
