I picked one up recently,but the hinge pin/toggle pin has been replaced with a bolt and nut.Which prohibits it from a complete cycle of the handle.Plus it it missing the set screw under the turret.
Question:what size is the set screw,maybe I can find it locally.Need ideas/help on getting rid of the bolt and putting in pin that should be there in the first place.
Anyone have a parts diagram for this press?(found).

The set screw is a 10-32 allen plug available at most hardware stores. The main pivot bolt for the ram is 1/2" dia. so I'm not sure why your bolt and nut arraignment doesn't work. Are you talking about the other end of the block that pivots into the press casting that pushes the ram up? That appears to be a 5/16 pin that you could possibly get from Lyman or maybe Locktite a pin in place. A picture would help.

That appears to be a very early press.If you have the same parts drawing I looked at that style was listed as obsolete with PN 7992908.You could contact Lyman to see if they can help.If you're in a rural area with real hardware stores you could find a pin that will fit.
If you have a good machine shop in your area, I'm sure they could help you. That machine screw really needs to be replaced with the proper sized hardened pin. The bolt or nut or both are catching on the press leg instead of going into the slot as it should. The pin should not stick out beyond the toggle . That should be a simple fix. james
Fixed it. Took a 3/8 grade 5 bolt,removed head and threads.Chucked in drill press,and few minutes with file and sandpaper and out came a pin.Found the spring washer at Rural King (8mm).Nice tight fit.Pressed in with a flat faced hammer and cleaned up with my 1" belt sander.

Lyman can't help. The ram and other parts connected to it are same as the Spartan single stage.
Nice job! Those are great old presses. I started my centerfire loading career with one back in the 60's and still have it on my bench.
