Fun at the indoor range today.

Have a shoot this weekend to benefit "Partners" and was trying out a few loads in a few guns, to see what might work best. Was shooting a Springfield Armory longslide .45 with lighter than standard loads (carpel tunnel issues). Was hitting about 2" low so dedide to raise the sight to bring point of impact up. Had never moved it before as standard loads shot to the POA.

Turned the rear sight elevation screw up about a full turn and turned the gun sideways to load a mag and the rear sight fell off!!!

    Suprised to say the least!!!!

Removed the rear sight elevation screw to see how I might tighten the sight and saw two allen screws. After a bit of work (and installing it backwards once!!!) I got it put on and tightened. Took about two turns of the allen screws to tighten. Somebody at the factory might have had an "oops" that day and forgot to tighten them!!!

Glad it wasn't at the shoot this weekend, I wouldn't have heard the last of it
