I didnt mean to offend the CZ crowd. I chose the Anchutz because of Trigger, Weight, and stock. I work 2 jobs so I have more money than time. I didnt want to mess with the gun to get it ready.

I understand that the equipmentis a small part of success in competition.

I'm pretty sure no one here is going to say buying an Anschutz 54 is a mistake. In the long run, going straight to the "not dorkin' around line" will save you spaces in the safe.

I wanted a 1710 in the fiberglass stock but I just couldn't go the $1800 price tag.....I saw a guy shooting a BRNO Mod 2 at the state champ shoot .... I loved it... Found a nice one... Bought it. Shoots better than I do...

I have around 16 22 rifles left. Been getting rid of ones I don't shoot. My favorite do everything
22 was a 10/22 Sporter for years. Is a early gun and did have trigger done, way back before the
10/22s were cool. When 77/22 came out I bought first one I could get my hands on. Blue &
Walnut, got a trigger job and put a Redfield 4x on it. This rig has out shot a lot of more expensive
rifles in Hunter/ Sporter class events. But like everything else I don't know if the new production
guns are up to standards that were used in 80s. I had a Finn Fire that would out shoot the 77/22
off bags but I couldn't shoot it offhand as well as 77/22. I tried using 513T, 52B and a BSA Martini
Target, they were to heavy for me.

I sent the Anschutz for a wild Pharr style stock. It will be pillared and bedded. Got a set of 1.43" Morr Accuracy rings and a 25x Leupold. Cant wait to get it back. Have not shot it yet!

Then you'll be looking for the ammo it likes. Champion Shooters and Good Shooting have some decent selections.

    I found this place https://www.outdoorlimited.com/ShoppingCart.asp?

There prices are better and decent selection. I need to find the right ammo for my 513 also. So far it likes Agulia match best. I found it for 3.95 a box. Thats a dollar cheaper than Academy.

Try Wolf or S-K - Good medium priced stuff..... I've had good luck with these.... The regular Agulia SE shoots good for the money.
