303 Brit then a year or two later I got a Rossi revolver in ss 6 inch 357. I remember shooting jacked bullets and wanting something cheaper so I bought a box of 500 hard cast for 11$. I remember the accuracy was terrible and the bore was so leaded it was a smooth bore. I gave up on lead bullets then and only shot lead in muzzle loaders. About 96 or so I started loading for 380 acp I also bought a 500 box of hard cast 8 or 9$ they shot fine no leading and actually shot real good out to 25 yards in the cheep pistols I was using . Accuracy I thought was decent probably 6 in . They where way more accurate than the 357. Back then I didint have internet to find out what was causing the leading in the 357

1957 supervised by my uncle. For his Model 70 Winchester(I believe it was a .243 but it might have been his .308--he had both. Wish I had that old Winchester, it shot bug hole groups. james

My first reloaded rounds were .30-06 on a used Hollywood Senior press that I bought used from one of my college professors in 1963. I've still got the press and dies, and have added another 30 calibers to my reloading collection.

    Hope this helps.

    Hi...
Sometime in the 1980-82 timeframe, I bought my first reloading press. A Lee C- style press...the first set of dies were RCBS carbide .357Mag. I had about 250 cases and bought a couple of pounds of Blue Dot and several boxes of Sierra or Speer, I can't remember which, 158gr jacketed softpoint bullets.
I loaded ten rounds and shoot them at the indoor range that the pistol league I shoot in used for our matches and practice shoots.
My first ten handloads shot more accurately than the factory loads I had been shooting and I was hooked!
Been loading thousands of rounds per year ever since although I no longer shoot competitively. Currently load just about every handgun caliber and about 8 or so rifle calibers.

32 Winchester Special-- It started as a pure money saving attempt, since the full RCBS reloading kit cost less than 10 boxes of 32 WS ammo. Since then, of course, it has turned into an addiction.

308W in 1968 with a Lee Loader. The only instruction and guidance was from the included instructions and what little info I got from 4 or 5 years of reading Outdoor Life.
