I experienced a rare privilege (for me, anyway) yesterday.

Man came to the range with two old Winchester. He let me shoot them both. The grin won't stop.

The first was a very early 52. Rough gun, probably 90 to 95 percent. Using CCI Stinger solids I shot an five round group about an inch and a quarter. What a rifle.

But the second . . . oh my. This beauty was a sporterized 03A3. Rear sight was a gorgeous ancient Lyman peep. Full length barrel made in July of 1928. All the numbers matched, including the stock. Had a funny little star on the muzzle. This was about the same condition, 90, 95. Oh sweet Lord.

Five rounds for me went into an inch.

It was a religious experience to say the least.
