For a revolver I've found accuracy holds to 1200 - 1300 fps. I use a 16-1 alloy for 1300 to 1450 fps.
In rifles I've had excellent accuracy up through 1700 fps with the 45-70, 1600 fps with the 44 magnum and using a felt wad under a maxi-ball in my 50 cal ML.
Note; velocities are +/- because of the variables.

Can I go 1100 fps in my Ruger .45 Colt with a pb boolet of 20/1 air cooled? Thinking just a few for sight in and deer hunting. Thanks, Tom

Take a look at the work James is doing on his channel 'Loads of Bacon'...he's noting Pb blends, speed and performance as he publishes his tests.
