    OMG?. Huge score tonight!!!

Living remote in Alaska, you just don't see this sort of thing... But the good Lord smiled on me just before the start of duck/goose season. And I now have this huge gem...

I haven't seen an 8lb'er anywhere around her for soooo very long, I had forgotten what they looked like. And now, there is one sitting on my kitchen table looking at me. Wooo freaking hoooo!!!

    Nice find!

Christmas or is it Christmas goose in July.

Red Dot is darn good stuff in a lot of things. I'm not much of a shot gun reloader, but it would seem Red Dot would be a bit fast for the kind of heavy loads water fowl hunting would call for?

Either way, great score, that'll keep you shooting a long time.

Red Dot is a great powder for many applications....but as mentioned above, too fast for heavy 12 ga loads. Still it is a great find. I have over 50 lbs of it on hand.

If nothing else, it will free up my limited green dot supply from shooting my 7/8oz lee slugs...

Awesome score! I will also concur that Red dot is fast burning for heavy loads, it's great for 1 1/8oz game loads. Anything more than 1 1/4 oz and blue dot is good. Red dot is great for most rifles too, but I'm probably telling you something you're aware of. Enjoy it!

Spending time with a friend and fishing. When did you work on the clinic? Did you have time to get to know the locals?

The load you listed is a lead shot load, don't you have to use steel for waterfowl up there? Red dot is a great powder, but I can't remember seeing any data for steel that uses it.

Good for you sir!!!! I'm a big fan of Red Dot in my shotgun (12 gauge) loads, handgun target loads and rifle cast boolit shooting. In fifty years of reloading, I've not been without a supply of it. In fact it's great sprinkled on vanilla ice cream also!!!LOL

    358 Win
