Big Boar with .401- 285gr WFNGC hardcast- waterdropped

I shot this boar last friday about 7:30pm, kinda suprised it came out before dark.
Shot was 60 yards on shoulder and he dropped at the shot, measured 48" around chest.
I dug the bullet out of the offside shoulder, expansion was to .70 a small amount shear on the nose, still very good performance and nice mushrooming.

285gr at 1700 fps ,alloy - ww, lead, little tin , waterdropped BHN22 , really don't keep up with the mix % but it is a little more lead based . I would say that is why it mushroomed nicely.
This is from a 41 cal mould I sized down to .411-.406-.401.

Ah, GNR caliber. Gary and his son do very nice work. Spent 25 years living in Flagstaff, and remember when he came to town. A number of my friends who still live there hunt with his wildcats all the time. Looks like his is working very well for you too.

His caliber development is pretty good but his semi custom work leaves a gun rather gaudy. It's personal preference and I will also say in many cases the load development is incomplete. Gary is never wrong just ask him.........

    Good morning
That is a fine looking caliber 41 cast and obviously does the job. Should do near the same out of the 405 JES we shoot.
