No, I prefer the heavier 311/314299 in the M1 as velocity is easily kept in the 1850 - 1950 fps range with 100% reliable functioning. The 311466 (155 gr) and the 30 XCB (164 gr) require to high a velocity [usually 2000 fps or above] to get 100% reliable functioning with the M1. They are just too light for the job in the M1.
I do shoot the 30 XCB with excellent accuracy in my M1903A1 match rifle but with 2400 powder and keeping the velocity around 1900 fps.
