That's a good price for a great press. I have one myself and just attached the new primer feed. It will crank out many, many factory quality shells quickly.
I wish it was in 16 gauge.
Sounds fair to me. I have 2 of them

Back up for sale. Last buyer had a few things come up, so the press is available again.
What size shot bar is on it and are any powder bushings included? Thanks.
Okay, what size wad have you been using with this press? Does it have removable powder bushings to adjust the powder load? My 600 Jr. Tells the shot load on the end. 118, 114, 112.
I bought this press used, as pictured and have never gotten around to using it. Now I am selling it to recoup my money. I honestly don't know much about it's operation. I believe to be able to use powder bushings you would need a different charge bar. I think the current charge bar is for a fixed powder amount. The previous owner wrote in pencil on the end of the charge bar "17.7 gn Red Dot". Hopefully that helps answer your questions.
This is one of the original MEC charge bars, made before they offered the bars with the changeable powder bushings.
Here is a link to a forum which has a link to an old chart. (you need photobucket to view the chart.) https://www.shootersforum.com/shotgu...ws-what-3.html
According to the chart, this bar throws 1 1/8 oz of shot and would drop 19.0 grains of Hi Skor 700X.
Back in the time of those bars, I remember shimming the holes with pieces of wad petals or shotgun hulls, sized by trial and error to change or fine tune a load. The danger was that the shim would slip out!
The new bars with powder bushings will work fine in the older presses.

If the press is still available I'll take it.

Smoking deal if you're just starting shot shell loading. 650 was /is one of MECs best presses. best thing is they stay in adjustment. loaded many thousands of shells on them.
