    870 forend wrench

Looking for a forend wrench for a 870 16 gauge. All the ones I see are for 12 or 20. Do 1 of the 12 or 20 fit the 16? I see no mention of 16 gauge on any of the ones I have looked at.

    Thx

I can't answer your question, but I would suggest giving Brownells a call and asking them.

12 gauge size. The 20 ga size is for the LW Wingmaster and Express in 20 gauge. Sixteen gauge 870s were built on 12 ga frame. At least I think so. Good luck.

16 gauges were made on the same frame as 12 gauge so the fore end wrench for 12 is required. You didn't ask, but Remington until the early 1970's, made 20 ga 870's on the 12 gauge frame. Ditto for the 1100. Said another way, up until this time Remington had only one frame size for 20, 16, and 12 gauge in 870s and 1100s.
